Croquet Francais

I found this photo taken on Christmas day during a most scintillating game of croquet. Grandfather took charge and instructed us all on how the game should be played. Team JessandAlex obviously took to the game like pros, but, fearful of upsetting the powers that be with our prowess and competence, played an atrocious game, most of which was spent lounging on the lawn like fabulous flambeaux. Such accomplishment in sport need not be constantly exhibited.

Elephants!

Dress is my Parisian vintage gem, in a lovely flowing summery fabric.
Elephant belt from same vintage shop in the Marais in Paris.

  1. saucy insolence, indeed! to so flagrantly display our prowess. but how utterly divine you are in this get-up!

... though I must confess an ounce of disappointment... is there a close up of those naughty little elephants??

p.s. I feel a Croquet Francais tableau vivant imminent; we must meet urgently in this capacity.

  2. Yes. YES! Elephants. Exquisitely wrought. Ooh I've a heady whiff of British Colonial India.
